Name:
"Black Sands Opera"
Ref. Number:
0431 (Limited Edition - 55 copies)
Location:
Vestrahorn, Stokksnes, Iceland
Artist`s Tale:
Silent Icelandic shore that is washed by cold freezing seawater. Small barbed bushes growing right from black sand dunes, and there is towering the worldwide famous Vestrahorn Mountain, glorious in its loneliness on the horizon.
Half an hour between sunset and sunrise, when the sky is clear and the air is frosty, white mist spreads near the coarse roots of the mountain, but at the same time, the peaks of it radiate soft amber light, that is emphasizing dark grey cliffs.
The sunlight contrasts with grayness of the landscape. Bright gray clouds almost entirely cover the sky, and as breathing in predawn cold air, you look at deserted north nature, always beauty, clear, calm and gorgeous.
The Stokksnes peninsula is famous for three "Horny" Mountains of East Iceland: Vestrahorn Mountain,
Eystrahorn Mountain and Brunnhorn Mountain (as known as Batman Mountain). All these mountains are beautiful in their own ways, but professional photographers have been paying a lot of attention exactly to the Vestrahorn Mountain to get this fantastic Icelandic photography. Maybe they attracted by its picturesque view, or maybe by the spirit of Icelandic folklore. Who knows maybe really elves and trolls inhabit the Stokksnes. Anyway the print of this Iceland nature photography looks reservedly and luxury at the same time.
