Seljalandsfoss: One Of The Few Waterfalls You Can Walk Behind
Seljalandsfoss, on Iceland`s south coast, drops about 60 meters over what used to be the country`s coastline before the sea receded — leaving a cave-like gap behind the curtain of falling water wide enough for a footpath to run all the way around it. That path is what makes Seljalandsfoss genuinely unusual among waterfalls: instead of only viewing it from in front, you can walk behind the water and shoot back out through it toward the light. "Dusk" was shot from that vantage point, framing the last color of the evening sky through the moving water rather than photographing the falls from the more conventional angle in front. It`s a harder shot to get right than it looks — the spray coats everything nearby, including camera gear, and the light behind the falls shifts constantly as the water`s density and speed change. Every piece in this collection is a limited edition, made to order and personally signed, printed on archival Fujiflex paper or as a Lumachrome TruLife acrylic face-mount, starting at $900. Professional custom picture framing takes time: framing alone takes about 20–25 days (shipping time not included); some more elaborate projects may require 25–30 days for completion. Anyway, our standard delivery time for framed and matted works in boxes and crates is around 30 days.
