Incarnadine: A Word Borrowed From Macbeth

"Incarnadine" is a Shakespearean word — from Macbeth, describing a green sea turned entirely red — and it`s the color this piece is really about, not any single named landmark. Scotland`s coastline is dense with lighthouses, built over more than two centuries to warn ships off a shore that`s genuinely dangerous in bad weather, and this one was photographed at the moment the sky briefly matched the word: a full, saturated red rather than the more common soft pink or orange of an ordinary sunset. That color doesn`t happen on demand. It depends on a fairly specific combination of cloud cover, humidity, and the sun`s angle at the horizon, which is part of why this particular evening was worth stopping for rather than one of the many ordinary ones.

Print Information:
Alexander Vershinin individually produces limited edition prints to museum-grade standards, on world-leading photographic paper. The Fujiflex Crystal Archive is an ultra-high-gloss, museum-grade photographic paper, with archival properties spanning over 70 years. Alexander also offers the trademarked printing and mounting process Lumachrome Gallery Deluxe, with archival properties spanning over 120 years. Both processes deliver exceptional sharpness, contrast, and color reproduction. Concentrated light hits the print, is held briefly in the silver crystals of the emulsion, and reflects back out — producing an image with real visual depth, almost as if it were lit from within. The photograph is mounted to a rigid dibond backing plate and finished under Lexan or Perspex — a super-transparent, non-shattering, anti-glare acrylic. This acrylic layer is completely colorless and shows the print at its best. It also blocks 98% of UV light and holds up well against weather, temperature, and humidity changes, which is a large part of what gives these pieces their long archival life. For a more classic, finished look, custom wooden Roma frames are also available. Each print is delivered with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, noting the work's title, edition number, and Alexander's original signature — a lasting record of provenance for your collection. Whichever you choose — an unframed print rolled in a hard tube, an acrylic face-mounted float, or a finished framed piece — you're getting a real, collectible piece of fine art photography, produced to the highest standard available.
Delivery Information:
Our standard delivery time for unframed Fujiflex prints in hard tubes is 15–18 days worldwide, and it's absolutely FREE.
