Storm Over A Lofoten Fjord
"Norge" — simply "Norway" in Norwegian — was shot during an active storm moving through one of the Lofoten Islands` fjords, rather than in the calm, clear conditions most fjord photography waits for. The archipelago sits directly in the path of weather systems rolling in off the North Atlantic, and storms here can build and clear within hours, turning a fjord that was flat and mirror-still that morning into something completely different by afternoon. That volatility is part of what the title is reaching for — not one specific village or landmark, but something closer to the character of the country`s whole northern coastline: dramatic, unpredictable, and shaped as much by weather as by geology. It`s a broader, more atmospheric piece than "Cover Of Blizzard" or "Engulfed In Eternal Frost," both anchored to specific villages within the same island chain.Print Information:
Alexander Vershinin individually produces limited edition prints to museum-grade standards, on world-leading photographic paper. The
Fujiflex Crystal Archive is an ultra-high-gloss, museum-grade photographic paper, with archival properties spanning over 70 years.
Alexander also offers the trademarked printing and mounting process
Lumachrome Gallery Deluxe, with archival properties spanning over 120 years.
Both processes deliver exceptional sharpness, contrast, and color reproduction.
Concentrated light hits the print, is held briefly in the silver crystals of the emulsion, and reflects back out — producing an image with real visual depth, almost as if it were lit from within.
The photograph is mounted to a rigid dibond backing plate and finished under Lexan or Perspex — a super-transparent, non-shattering, anti-glare acrylic. This acrylic layer is completely colorless and shows the print at its best.
It also blocks 98% of UV light and holds up well against weather, temperature, and humidity changes, which is a large part of what gives these pieces their long archival life. For a more classic, finished look, custom wooden
Roma frames are also available.
Each print is delivered with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, noting the work's title, edition number, and Alexander's original signature — a lasting record of provenance for your collection.
Whichever you choose — an unframed print rolled in a hard tube, an acrylic face-mounted float, or a finished framed piece — you're getting a real, collectible piece of fine art photography, produced to the highest standard available.
