Artist`s Tale:
Fog At Mesa Arch Is Almost A Contradiction
Southeastern Utah`s high desert climate makes fog a genuinely unusual condition at Mesa Arch — the air here is normally dry enough that visible moisture in any form is rare, let alone a layer thick enough to fill the canyon below the arch. "Skyfall" caught one of those infrequent mornings, when temperature and humidity happened to line up just right to produce a fog bank sitting in the canyon while the arch itself stayed clear above it. The effect changes the whole composition: instead of the canyon floor and distant rock formations that usually fill the space framed by the arch, there`s just an even bank of white, with the arch reading almost like it`s floating over open space rather than perched on a canyon rim. It`s a genuinely different Mesa Arch than the sunrise-glow or clear-sky versions most photographs show — one that depends on a weather condition the location almost never produces, not unlike how "Twilight" catches Arches National Park`s Delicate Arch in a window of light most visitors miss entirely.Print Information:
Alexander Vershinin individually produces limited edition prints to museum-grade standards, on world-leading photographic paper. The
Fujiflex Crystal Archive is an ultra-high-gloss, museum-grade photographic paper, with archival properties spanning over 70 years.
Alexander also offers the trademarked printing and mounting process
Lumachrome Gallery Deluxe, with archival properties spanning over 120 years.
Both processes deliver exceptional sharpness, contrast, and color reproduction.
Concentrated light hits the print, is held briefly in the silver crystals of the emulsion, and reflects back out — producing an image with real visual depth, almost as if it were lit from within.
The photograph is mounted to a rigid dibond backing plate and finished under Lexan or Perspex — a super-transparent, non-shattering, anti-glare acrylic. This acrylic layer is completely colorless and shows the print at its best.
It also blocks 98% of UV light and holds up well against weather, temperature, and humidity changes, which is a large part of what gives these pieces their long archival life. For a more classic, finished look, custom wooden
Roma frames are also available.
Each print is delivered with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, noting the work's title, edition number, and Alexander's original signature — a lasting record of provenance for your collection.
Whichever you choose — an unframed print rolled in a hard tube, an acrylic face-mounted float, or a finished framed piece — you're getting a real, collectible piece of fine art photography, produced to the highest standard available.
